Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Quality/CI Director to lead the quality management and lean programs across 40+ plants, reporting to Regional VPs. Location flexibility includes Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA.

The role drives standardized quality and CI practices, supports PPAP processes for key customers, and develops training materials while coaching improvement projects. Strong leadership and ISO/QMS expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• CQE Certification preferred or equivalent knowledge.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a Quality manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO9001 QMS; understanding of IATF 16949 and AIAG practices.
• Working knowledge of Quality Science applications.
• High-level understanding of lean concepts and applications.
• Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel charts and templates.
• Manager-level leadership knowledge/experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality management systems of the business segments and their impact on customers.
• Lead the continuous improvement program through standardized practices and training.
• Assist plants in maintaining ISO9001 compliance and certification status.
• Provide quality & CI training to plant quality managers/coordinators.
• Drive standardization in quality and lean systems for consistency.
• Introduce new methodologies and technologies impacting quality and improvements (e.g., software/SCADA).
• Support onboarding of new and strategic customers within PPAP processes.
• Provide CI training materials and mentor improvement projects.
• Host regional CI progress meetings to share best practices.
• Develop next steps to evolve and mature systems and training.
• Provide high-level data analysis to assess system effectiveness and guide actions.
