Job summary

SkyWater Technology in Austin, TX is seeking a Staff Quality Assurance Engineer with deep semiconductor QA experience. The role partners across cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance, resolve quality issues, and continuously improve processes to protect product quality and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in wafer fabrication QA, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with industry QA tools and standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or related.
• 5–7+ years experience in a semiconductor wafer fabrication environment, including Quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience with quality tools (8D, FMEA, 5 Whys, Poka-Yoke, 5S).
• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS9100.
• Statistical tools (SPC, DOE) for data-driven decisions.
• Ability to drive improvement through leadership of cross-functional CI activities.
• US Citizen or US Person required.

Responsibilities

• Drive fab quality metrics with focus on Zero Defects and timely handling of customer complaints (IQA failures, field returns, RMAs, FAs).
• Establish and sustain Quality Systems, specifications, SPC, change management, supplier quality controls, and MRB for NCM.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Procurement and Fab Engineering to assure incoming materials meet specs and support qualification of new materials.
• Perform internal audits of quality systems and manufacturing processes to verify compliance and identify improvements.
• Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with internal teams and external customers.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis in cross-functional relationships.
