Job summary

Catalent in St. Petersburg, FL seeks a Scientist, Quality Control to perform microbiological and analytical testing of finished products, materials, and validation samples. You will also conduct environmental testing and maintain cultures, ensuring GMP compliance and safety across the facility.

The role supports lab equipment activities and prepares reagents, under supervision, with opportunities for growth in a global pharma leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science with college coursework in related sciences.
• 5+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience with Infrared and Atomic Absorption instrumentation.
• HPLC and GC instrumentation experience.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and lift up to 15 pounds; Able to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological and analytical testing of finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, and validation samples.
• Conduct environmental and utility testing, including water, gases, moisture, and cleaning validation support.
• Cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms using standard methods.
• Maintain microbial cultures per ATCC requirements and SOPs.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and materials for testing.
• Record and report results in notebooks, reports, and LIMS.
