Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Quality Control Mechanical Engineer to oversee quality assurance for complex industrial projects. You will provide technical leadership during design and construction to ensure mechanical, plumbing, and process systems meet standards.

Responsibilities include developing QC plans, conducting rigorous inspections, reviewing submittals, and mentoring junior staff, with travel to project sites as needed; PE license and 10+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10+ years of quality control experience on complex industrial projects.
Expertise in mechanical, plumbing, and process system design and construction.
Strong knowledge of ASME, ASTM, AWS standards.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight and guidance during design of complex industrial projects.
Develop and implement QC plans and inspection procedures for mechanical systems.
Conduct inspections of mechanical, plumbing, and process systems during construction.
Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders for quality implications.
Identify non-conformances and craft corrective actions.
Collaborate with PMs, contractors, and engineers to resolve issues.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulations.
Document QC activities and maintain records.
Train and mentor junior QC staff.
Monitor contractor performance across construction and commissioning.
Lead mechanical QC reviews for commissioning and ensure systems meet standards.
