Job summary

Alcon seeks a QC Chemistry Investigator for the Aspex Facility in Fort Worth, TX. You will independently lead and troubleshoot chemistry investigations, collaborating with multiple departments to address nonconforming products in line with global and local regulations.

You will drive deviations to root cause, implement CAPAs, review data across finished products and materials, and support microbiology investigations. Onsite role with travel 0–10% and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of related experience.
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking English.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive deviation investigations to true root cause using RCA tools.
• Identify and implement effective CAPAs to prevent recurrence.
• Complete investigation summaries.
• Review technical data for finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, release tests or stability samples in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet site objectives (On-Time Release, Key Projects).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to pursue lab best practice and provide feedback on non-value-added activities.
• Drive investigation closures to target timelines; multi-task effectively.
• Assist with microbiology investigations as needed.
• Perform process equipment alarm deviation analyses and mitigations.

As a QC Chemistry Investigator, supporting our QC, Analysis and Testing Service Team, you will be trusted to independently lead and troubleshoot chemistry investigations at Aspex Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. You will collaborate with various departments to address nonconforming products using scientific principles for problem-solving and innovation.

Typical Day

• Drive deviation investigations to true root cause using root cause analysis tools
• Identify and implement effective CAPAs to prevent reoccurrence
• Complete investigation summaries
• Analyze and/or review technical data for finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, release test samples or stability samples in compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with other functional departments to meet site key objectives (On-Time Release, Key Projects, etc)
• Participate in continuous improvement activities looking to pursue laboratory best practice and offer appropriate feedback when nonvalue added activities are observed
• Effectively multi-task and drive investigation closures to target timelines
• Assist with microbiology investigations as needed
• Perform process equipment alarm deviations and mitigations

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
