Job summary

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, through our Finance, Technology, and Analytics Administration and Division of Information Technology Quality Assurance team, seeks a qualified QA/Test Analyst. This project appointment, based in Olympia with flexible hybrid options, covers testing for ACES applications supporting benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or CS plus 7 years of test-analyst experience.
• Experience with hierarchical and relational database management systems, web testing, and XML/SQL.
• Associate's degree in IT/CS plus 9 years of test-analyst experience or 11 years equivalent.
• At least 2 years of leadership in a QA team.
• Software testing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality of coding changes for ACES applications.
• Lead testing for complex projects and oversee multiple test environments.
• Make decisions on test environment maintenance and access.
• Apply strategic expertise to improve processes and new procedures.
• Research emerging technologies and guide integration efforts.
• Train staff and provide coaching on testing principles.
• Maintain relationships with state and federal partners for testing coordination.
• Partner with PMs, BAs, and stakeholders for bug triage and escalation.
• Participate in the full SDLC from requirements to testing and deployment.
• Mentor team members to ensure production readiness.
• Support occasional evening/weekend/on-call work for critical issues.
