Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago is seeking a QA Lab Business Owner to lead capability programs across Sample Management, Stability Studies, Reference Standard and Lab Inventory. You will shape multi-year roadmaps, partner with IT, manufacturing sites and Global QA Lab teams to design robust, compliant lab solutions that improve outcomes.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, and experience with lab systems (LIMS/ELN/CDS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience; minimum 10 years in lab, business analysis, PM, and strategy.
• Self-Directed Leader, quickly grasping business needs and setting direction.
• Excellent analytical, judgment and consultative capabilities and communication skills
• Lab Systems / Lab Experience is required (LIMS, ELN, CDS, Inventory, Asset Management).

Responsibilities

• Develops and promotes business cases for key projects and manages portfolio from ideation to completion.
• Provides management oversight and implementation of projects capping in excess of $14 million.
• Ensures technology strategy and roadmaps align with business objectives and cost.
• Collaborates with local teams and vendors to minimize production impact and ensure scalability.
• Communicates and educates technical and business communities on architectures and technologies.
• Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates technology solutions.
• Accountable for financial objectives and timelines of the portfolio.
• Builds positive culture, mentors team, conducts performance reviews.
