Job summary

PNC is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer Specialist to lead test strategy and validation across UI, APIs, and downstream systems from our Pittsburgh/Strongsville/Dallas/Birmingham footprint. You will own test plans, coordinate with development teams, and drive release readiness through comprehensive coverage and risk assessment.

The role emphasizes test automation, cross-browser testing, and collaboration with CI/CD pipelines while mentoring junior QEs and contributing to governance standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Jira/Xray for test management and execution.
• Familiarity with Confluence or SharePoint for test documentation.
• Experience testing customer-facing, enterprise web applications.
• Test automation experience (Karate, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium).
• API testing experience (Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI).
• Working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Ability to assess and improve automation quality.
• Basic SQL skills to validate test data (read-only).

Responsibilities

• Develops and reviews test strategies and plans to ensure alignment with project goals, including scope, tools, and testing approaches.
• Identifies and addresses resource and environment gaps, escalating unresolved or recurring issues to appropriate Quality Engineer leadership.
• Monitors testing risks and defects, ensuring they meet ECO standards and are accurately reported.
• Prepares and delivers test summary reports and documentation for Technology leaders, Governance/Risk teams, and business stakeholders.
• Collaborates across teams and participates in Quality Engineer CoP meetings to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
