Job summary

Quantum seeks a QA Engineer to plan and execute functional, regression, and integration tests for USP and VS/Acuity releases, write test plans, and design real-world test rigs including VMS integrations and multi-node clusters.

You will manage the QA lab, coordinate tasks, reproduce customer issues across virtualization, storage, networking and OS, contribute to documentation, and deliver training to peers and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA engineering experience, including senior/lead capacity.
• Strong hands-on manual testing background with enterprise software, storage, virtualization, or infrastructure platforms.
• Experience building and managing physical test environments — server hardware setup, cabling, component replacement, and lab logistics.
• Solid VMware knowledge (vSphere, ESXi, vMotion, HA/DRS).
• Strong Linux and Windows Server experience.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and storage concepts.
• Experience writing clear test plans and documenting results for engineering and executives.
• Experience with security/vulnerability testing and remediation validation (Qualys, Nessus, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across a team and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, support, and customer-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute hands-on functional, regression, integration, and solutions testing for USP and VS/Acuity releases.
• Write and maintain test plans and test cases covering new features, failure scenarios, upgrades, and customer-representative configurations.
• Design, build, and maintain solutions test rigs that replicate real-world surveillance deployments, including VMS integrations, camera simulation, and multi-node cluster configurations.
• Perform security and vulnerability testing, including validating fixes for scan findings and hardening requirements common in enterprise and government deployments.
• Execute VMware certification and compatibility testing (vSphere/ESXi qualification, live migration, HA/failover validation).
• Manage the QA lab environment, including rig assignments, scheduling, hardware inventory, and component replacements.
• Assign and coordinate test tasks across the QA team, track execution progress, and provide clear release-readiness and quality status updates.
• Reproduce and investigate customer-reported issues and escalations spanning virtualization, storage, networking, and operating systems.
• Contribute to product and support documentation, including test procedures, known-issue write-ups, and field-facing technical content.
• Develop and deliver training on products, test procedures, and lab practices for QA team members and cross-functional partners.
• Work closely with development, support, and field teams to drive issues to resolution.
