Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support Policyholder Portal applications. This remote, contract-to-hire role focuses on manual, automation, mobile, API, and database testing with risk-based strategies and cross-team collaboration.

The qualified candidate will validate complex workflows, mentor peers, and contribute to SDLC/STLC quality improvements. Insurance testing experience is a plus and rate ranges from $40 to $50 per hour on a W2 basis.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of quality assurance and software testing experience.
• Experience validating REST and SOAP services with Postman or Bruno, including requests, responses, authentication, business rules, error handling, and integrations.
• Experience writing SQL queries to validate data accuracy, integrity, transformations, interfaces, and business transactions.
• Experience with regression testing, defect management, and Agile or Scrum delivery practices.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem solving, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, leadership, mentoring, and customer focus.
• Preferred: Insurance application testing experience, including policy lifecycle, coverage, billing, payments, claims, underwriting, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, communications, and regulatory requirements.
• Preferred: Experience testing iOS and Android functionality, usability, performance, and cross-device or browser compatibility.
• Preferred: Experience with mabl, BrowserStack, Postman, Bruno, Jira, or PractiTest.

Responsibilities

• Participate throughout the SDLC and STLC, reviewing requirements, user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria for clarity and testability.
• Create risk-based test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, and reusable test assets.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing across web, desktop, and mobile applications.
• Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and close defects. Support root-cause analysis and continuous quality improvement.
• Partner with developers, analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to validate complex business workflows, integrations, and customer-facing features.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites using mabl. Build reusable components and analyze results to expand coverage and efficiency.
