NinjaTrader is seeking a Software Engineer in Test for our Web team in Chicago. You will own end-to-end quality for a dedicated product squad, building automation to enable fast, confident releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA engineering and test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript automation.
• Experience building and maintaining tests using Page Object Model or modular test architecture.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools in a production QA context.
• Ability to own quality for a product area independently, with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication skills—comfortable with engineers and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Own quality end-to-end for an assigned product squad: from test strategy through release confidence.
• Partner with developers and product managers at the design stage to define acceptance criteria and build testability into features.
• Design, develop, and maintain Playwright-based automated tests following Page Object Model patterns.
• Write and maintain automation in TypeScript/JavaScript, contributing to shared frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineers on system design, API contracts, and application architecture for observable, testable behavior.
• Own your squad's test reliability—eliminate flakiness with urgency.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines with tagging strategies for quality gates.
• Apply AI-assisted tools to improve coverage and productivity.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation falls short, translating findings into coverage.
• Contribute to junior QA team members' growth through code reviews and feedback.
