Job summary

NANO Nuclear Energy in Oak Brook, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to build and implement the QA program as Kronos MMR nears construction. The role reports to the Director of Quality Assurance and offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include QA oversight, supplier audits, and participating in root-cause analyses, with opportunities to mentor staff and influence safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; experience may substitute.
• Minimum 5 years in QA/QC with 2 years nuclear quality in a DOE/NRC or similar setting.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1, ASME III, ASME B31.1, B31.3 standards.
• Experience/certification in non-destructive examination: UT, PT, RT.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Quality oversight to ensure work follows the QA program requirements.
• Support supplier qualification and audits/surveillance activities.
• Assist in creating quality plans, acceptance criteria, and inspection plans.
• Promote continuous improvement and timely reporting of quality issues.
• Collaborate to implement quality improvements and perform root-cause analysis.
• Lead and mentor personnel to reinforce proper behaviors and safety.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health requirements.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
