NANO Nuclear Energy Inc. in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is seeking a Senior Criticality Safety Engineer to own the safety basis for the KRONOS MMR HTGR fuel lifecycle, including fresh and irradiated fuel handling, transportation, and storage.

You will collaborate across fuel design, performance, and qualification programs to ensure safe configurations, develop calculation packages, and produce qualification-grade safety documentation under NRC and QA requirements.

Competenze

• Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related highly technical discipline.
• 5+ years of nuclear criticality safety experience, including authorship and independent defense of evaluations.
• Proficiency with criticality safety codes such as MCNP and SCALE/KENO.
• Experience establishing code validation, bias and uncertainty, and subcritical margins.

Mansioni

• Execute criticality safety analyses for fresh and irradiated fuel movement and transport.
• Define and validate storage configurations for fresh and spent fuel.
• Model accident scenarios and establish preventive and mitigative controls.
• Develop evaluation packages and operations limits under NRC/NQA-1 requirements.
