Job summary

Overflow is hiring a QA Engineer to lead quality across our product teams. You will drive testing strategy, develop comprehensive test plans, and ensure robust coverage across unit, integration, and E2E testing.

You will collaborate with engineers to validate RESTful APIs, expand automation in Cypress, and advocate for the user experience with a strong focus on reducing defects and improving release quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA or software testing.
• Able to develop test plans and test cases from requirements and design specs.
• Strong manual and exploratory testing capabilities.
• Experience with test automation frameworks (Cypress, Jest).
• Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or Insomnia.
• Proficient with bug tracking tools (Jira/Linear) and version control (GitLab).
• Solid SDLC/CI/CD understanding and collaboration with developers.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the QA strategy with automated and manual testing.
• Lead exploratory, functional, and regression testing for new features.
• Review test plans with engineers to ensure coverage across unit, integration, and E2E tests.
• Perform regular production sweeps and smoke tests to ensure critical flows work.
• Identify edge cases and usability issues beyond automation.
• Guide expansion of test automation within Cypress-based frameworks.
