Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Atlanta-based engineering organization.

You will own end-to-end functional testing for core applications, drive automation across UI, services, and integrations, and apply AI-enabled practices to improve coverage and release readiness. As a hands-on contributor, you will mentor peers, shape QA strategy, build or extend a modern test automation framework using Playwright and TypeScript, and partner with engineering,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering with hands-on test automation.
• Demonstrated depth with Playwright, extending beyond test authoring to suite architecture and CI integration.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tooling in testing workflows.
• Strong foundation in functional testing, risk-based prioritization, and exploratory testing.
• Proven experience building a test automation framework from the ground up, with architectural clarity.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript or comparable programming skills.
• Experience owning both automated and manual testing for an application, with judgment on when to apply each.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Functional Test Ownership across UI, services, and integrations.
• Hands-on across full stack for automation, manual, and exploratory testing.
• Define and maintain the test strategy and cadence for applications.
• Provide evidence-based release readiness assessments to leadership.
• Evaluate requirements for ambiguities and edge cases before development.
• Build and maintain Playwright automation using AI tooling to accelerate authoring and refactoring.
• Operate automated suites within CI/CD pipelines and conduct manual testing where appropriate.
• Triage, reproduce, and drive defects to resolution with AI-assisted analysis.
• Contribute to QA automation framework design and maintainability.
