Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. seeks an experienced Lead Quality Engineer in Atlanta to own functional testing end-to-end across core applications. You will drive AI-enabled QA workflows, build Playwright automation, and mentor peers in modern test automation and AI-assisted engineering.

You will shape test strategy, collaborate with engineering and product leadership, and ensure release readiness through evidence-based assessments in a hands-on IC role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering.
• Deep Playwright experience including suite architecture and maintenance.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tooling in testing workflows.
• Strong foundation in functional testing design, risk-based prioritization, and exploratory testing.
• Proven ability to build a test automation framework from the ground up.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and rapid productivity.
• Experience owning automated and manual testing with CI/CD integration.
• Mentoring or leading other engineers and sharing quality practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for test plans and reports.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Functional Test Ownership across UI, service layers, and integrations.
• Define and maintain the test strategy and release readiness.
• AI-enabled quality workflow, surface ambiguities and prioritize test scenarios.
• Generate and refine candidate test cases from requirements using engineering judgment.
• Build and maintain Playwright automation, with AI-assisted authoring and maintenance.
• Operate automated suites in CI/CD and perform manual testing where needed.
• Triage, reproduce, document, and drive defects to resolution with AI-assisted analysis.
• Produce clear reporting on coverage, results, defects, and release risk.
• Contribute to QA automation framework and advocate automation standards.
