Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications, APIs, and backend services. This role collaborates with developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure software quality through robust automation frameworks and continuous testing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA or software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and API testing.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Develop and execute functional, regression, integration, and API tests.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and ensure product quality.
• Analyze defects, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
