Job summary

Exavalu in the United States seeks an experienced QA Automation Engineer to analyze existing test assets, develop Playwright scripts in TypeScript or JavaScript, and convert manual tests into robust automation.

You will implement reusable components, contribute to CI/CD, and collaborate with QA, development, and business teams to ensure reliable software delivery and comprehensive regression coverage.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Hands-on Playwright automation using TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience automating web-based applications, preferably Angular or modern JS frameworks.
• Strong understanding of automation framework design and Page Object Model (POM).
• Experience converting manual test cases into automated scripts.
• Experience with functional, regression testing, test design, test execution, and defect management.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools, DOM inspection, locators, waits, assertions, and handling dynamic web elements.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing test cases and test scripts in OpenText Octane to understand workflows and application functionality.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Convert existing manual test cases into reliable automation scripts.
• Identify test scenarios for automation and prioritize by business criticality and regression coverage.
• Develop reusable automation components, page objects, utilities, and test data management.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing as required.
• Validate UI elements, workflows, forms, tables, dynamic content, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and collaborate with development and business teams to resolve defects.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support scheduled or continuous regression.
• Maintain test documentation, execution reports, defect details, and coverage metrics.
• Collaborate with QA, developers, and stakeholders to ensure quality and timely delivery.
