Job summary

Private Identity is seeking a QA engineer to own automated testing across builds, primarily focusing on Playwright-based UI and API tests. You'll verify each release, write thorough defect reports, and ensure coverage before shipping to customers.

You'll work closely with engineering and customer teams, join a distributed, international group, and contribute to a resilient automation framework integrated into GitHub Actions. On-site in Woonsocket RI part of the week, with remote days as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software QA/testing, including 3+ years hands-on building and running automated tests.
• Strong, current, hands-on Playwright skills - it’s the primary tool of this role.
• Solid API testing and automation - Playwright’s request layer, Postman/Bruno, or equivalent.
• Strong coding ability in TypeScript/JavaScript for building automated tests.
• Experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Comfortable at the Linux command line and on Android devices - installing builds, collecting logs, reproducing issues.
• Excellent written communication and documentation habits.

Responsibilities

• Test every build we ship - core of the role and ensure repeatable coverage.
• Be the bridge between two small teams - align test approach and hand-offs.
• Own the automation framework & CI/CD - design and maintain Playwright-based automation.
• Bring structure to testing - defect reports, coverage maps, runbooks and process notes.
