Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Software QA Automation Engineer III to design and maintain automated tests for mission systems software. You will collaborate with development and system test teams while working with substantial autonomy to improve test infrastructure.

The role emphasizes building and optimizing automation frameworks, mentoring peers, and ensuring robust test coverage across embedded and networked software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in software QA automation.
• Proficient in C/C++, Python, Java, or C#/.NET with OO design.
• Experience building and optimizing automation frameworks and test suites.
• Familiarity with Linux, source control, and CI pipelines (GitLab).

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, expansion and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks.
• Owns isolated component, sub-system, and automated system tests; supports HIL regressions.
• Defines scope, benchmarks and goals of manual and automation work.
• Implements QA practices, procedures, standards and reporting.
• Mentors less experienced team members on QA/QC concepts and best practices.
• Designs test plans, scenarios and cases to exercise new functionality.
