Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced automation engineer to join a Scrum team and drive the software quality plan for a product. You will create automation scripts from requirements, run manual and automated tests, and maintain test libraries to ensure robust delivery.

Strong Java/C#, REST, and web UI testing skills are essential, with exposure to cloud-based distributed systems and AI-driven automation avenues.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field; MS preferred.
• 4-7 years of software testing experience in a process-driven tech environment.
• Experience programming with Java, C#, SQL and shell scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
• Experience testing Rest APIs and Web UI automated testing.
• Experience testing cloud-based, distributed systems.
• Talend experience strongly desired.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into testing solutions.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of C#, HTML5, JavaScript, REST, AngularJS, Python.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) and other tools.
• Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automated test suites.
• Extensive exposure to testing tools (Selenium WebDriver, Gradle, Jenkins, REST Assured).
• Familiarity with TeamCity, Git, Confluence, JIRA, Docker, ELK, Dynatrace.
• Strong database testing experience (Oracle, SQL/NoSQL).
• Knowledge of CRD functional areas; Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Scrum team to execute the overall quality plan for one product.
• Create comprehensive test automation scripts from requirements and specs.
• Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Maintain automated and manual test script libraries for QA testing.
• Align with SDLC practices and data governance requirements.
• Document defects and communicate issues to developers and teammates.
• Provide testing leadership and explore automation improvements, including AI approaches.
• Adhere to testing schedules for efficient product delivery.
• Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Participate in group testing activities as needed.
