Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Analyst specializing in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. The role focuses on heavy manual testing with limited automation exposure, ensuring quality across underwriting and policy administration systems.

The ideal candidate will test REST APIs with Postman, manage defects in Azure DevOps, and collaborate across Agile teams. Hybrid Jersey City location, with a competitive hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

3+ years of Quality Assurance or Software Testing experience.
P&C Insurance experience is required.
Strong background in manual software testing (90% of role).
Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and validation.
Experience utilizing Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management, defect tracking, and Agile project delivery.
Experience testing underwriting platforms, policy administration systems, rating systems, or other insurance technology applications.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software testing lifecycle, and defect management processes.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
Validate business workflows across underwriting, policy administration, and insurance-related applications.
Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
Test REST APIs using Postman, including request validation, response verification, and data integrity checks.
Create, track, and manage defects within Azure DevOps (ADO).
Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and QA team members throughout the SDLC.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Support automation initiatives and contribute to automated testing efforts when applicable.
Analyze requirements and user stories to ensure adequate test coverage.
Document testing results and communicate quality risks and release readiness.
