Job summary

SMBC Group seeks a senior software engineer to design, build and support full‑stack applications for risk analysis and decision support. You will deliver production-ready systems using Python and React, deployed on Azure, and drive reliability and technical direction.

You will mentor engineers, enhance pipelines, and contribute to engineering discipline across the team. Hybrid work with in-office and remote options is available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development with Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Backend: Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Frontend: JavaScript with React.
• Data: SQL queries and data analysis.
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure services.
• DevOps: CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Tools: GitHub, VS Code; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable web applications using Python and React.
• Design and develop APIs and backend services for data-driven use cases.
• Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Containers, Storage).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Improve performance, reliability and security across the stack.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Automate build, test and deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering practices.
