Job summary

Wissen Technology in New York City seeks a Senior Python Engineer to join the Global Risk Analysis Technology team. The role requires strong Python/SQL, ETL experience, and building data quality solutions in a fast-paced financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid mode (3 days onsite) with 7+ years of related experience and collaboration across IT teams and external vendors. This is an AVP/VP level opportunity within a technical consulting firm.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other STEM fields.
5–7 years of professional development experience, preferably in distributed data via microservices or APIs in Python.
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (DB2, MS SQL Server, Sybase, Snowflake).
Strong knowledge of Python.
Strong knowledge of RESTful services.
Experience with Pandas and FastAPI.
Experience in UNIX/Linux environments.
Strong communication skills documented in Jira Epics/Stories and technical designs.
Java work experience is a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain ETL flows and Python data quality rules based on business requirements.
Maintain schema and content of operational data stores and data warehouse on DB2 and Sybase databases.
Respond to support queries and system or data alerts.
Collaborate with business users, vendors, and IT teams globally.
Support and enhance regulatory and framework processes such as MSIM Liquidity, Aladdin.
Participate in SDLC lifecycle from requirements to development, deployment, and support.
