Job summary

iCapital is seeking an Assistant Vice President Python Developer to join the Core Operations Technology team. This role focuses on building scalable Python-based applications, collaborating with senior developers, and contributing to REST APIs and data processing pipelines.

The position requires 5-7 years of Python experience, familiarity with AWS (Lambda, S3), SQL databases, Docker, and Agile practices. Hybrid in Stamford, CT with in-office Mon-Thu and remote Fri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years Python development experience with REST APIs and web scraping tools.
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficient with AWS services (Lambda, S3) and serverless app development; familiar with Azure/GCP is a plus.
• Experience with testing frameworks (pytest, unittest), Docker, front-end basics, and Agile.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and scripts.
• Write clean, well-documented code following best practices.
• Debug and resolve issues in existing code.
• Collaborate on code reviews, design discussions, and agile processes.
• Develop REST APIs, web services, and data processing pipelines.
• Write unit tests and automated test cases to ensure quality and performance.
• Support integration of third-party libraries and APIs.
• Maintain Git version control and CI/CD practices.
• Work with Lambda functions for serverless computing tasks.
• Manage AWS S3 buckets for storage and retrieval.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for improvements.
