Job summary

DeweyLearn in the United States is seeking a skilled backend engineer to build and maintain production services using Python and FastAPI. You will design robust APIs, integrate retrieval workflows (RAG, embeddings), and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to make pragmatic trade-offs.

You will help keep systems reliable, extensible, and secure, with a focus on clean code, testability, and scalable deployments in a fast-moving education technology startup.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Production experience with ML/AI systems is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI).
• Implement retrieval workflows (RAG, embeddings, vector search).
• Work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to make good technical trade-offs.
• Help keep our systems clean, reliable, and easy to extend.
