Job summary

TEKsystems in San Antonio, TX seeks a Senior Backend Engineer with 10+ years of Python and FastAPI experience to design and maintain production-grade APIs. The role will leverage AWS or GCP, and integrate external AI/LLM providers, not build ML models.

You’ll work within a microservices architecture, ensuring security, observability and high availability, with occasional React exposure. The position is a 12-month contract with a hybrid work model (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) in San Antonio, TX,

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Ideal Candidate Profile | Strong Fit Candidate

• Senior Backend Engineer with heavy Python/FastAPI experience. 10+ years
• Has built and supported production APIs deployed in AWS or GCP.
• Experience integrating external AI/LLM providers rather than building ML models.
• Comfortable with microservices, event-driven architectures, queues, caching strategies, and high-availability systems.
• Has experience managing authentication, security, observability, and production support.
• React exposure is a significant bonus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
