Job summary

LPL Financial Holdings Inc. is seeking an AVP Software Engineer in Data Technology to design and develop scalable Python backend services and data pipelines within the Connectics team.

You will work on batch processing, data ingestion, and enterprise data distribution, leveraging cloud-native AWS services and modern data platform capabilities. The role emphasizes building scalable data-intensive applications, observability, and collaboration with Data, AI, and Analytics teams to enable ML/AI use

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python backend development and React/JS frameworks.
• 5+ years designing scalable backend services, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• 5+ years developing cloud-native applications on AWS with production workloads.
• Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, Step Functions).
• Experience with modern data platform solutions, including batch processing, data integration, data ingestion, and data distribution pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based backend services for enterprise data integration and distribution.
• Build data pipeline frameworks supporting batch ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and downstream consumption.
• Develop cloud-native apps using AWS serverless technologies to enable data movement and access.
• Create reusable integration patterns for source systems, data platforms, and consuming apps.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and resilience across data pipelines and services.
• Collaborate with Data/AI/Analytics teams to expose data and metrics for ML/AI use cases.
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed data workloads.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
