Job summary

LPL Financial Holdings Inc. is seeking an AVP Software Engineer in Data Technology to design, develop, and scale backend services for enterprise data pipelines on AWS.

You will work on batch ingestion, data movement, and trusted data products across the modern data platform, building observable, resilient systems. The role prioritizes Python backend engineering with exposure to React for dashboards, and requires strong collaboration with Data, AI, and Analytics teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with Python backend.
• 5+ years designing and building scalable backend services, REST APIs, and distributed systems.
• 5+ years developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions.
• Experience with batch processing, data ingestion, and enterprise data distribution pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of React for operational dashboards and UI components.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based backend services for data integration.
• Build and enhance data pipeline frameworks for batch ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Develop cloud-native apps using AWS serverless technologies.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and resilience of data pipelines and services.
• Collaborate with Data/AI teams to expose data and metrics for ML/AI use cases.
• Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
