3Pillar Global, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with Python and AWS expertise to deliver data-driven product capabilities for our clients.

You will build scalable data pipelines, models, and dashboards, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams in a remote-first environment. The role emphasizes data integration from laboratory instruments, robust testing, and clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of building data solutions as a Data Engineer or similar field.
• 3+ years working in Python and SQL with a focus on data.
• Experience with data plotting/dashboarding tools like Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory instruments.
• Engineer and operationalize custom file parsers to handle diverse instrument output formats.
• Architect and implement robust data models and scalable data pipelines with tests and utilities.
• Perform comparative analysis of datasets to design shared, extensible data model components.

We are looking for a talented Senior Data Python + AWS Engineer who will not only write code but also deliver exceptional product capabilities for our clients. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in achieving our passion for client success, solidifying our position as a leading product development services company.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and refine strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory instruments.

Engineer and operationalize custom file parsers to handle diverse instrument output formats—including .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and a variety of proprietary vendor binaries.

Architect and implement robust data models, along with scalable data pipelines, comprehensive unit and integration tests, and modular utility libraries.

Perform comparative analysis of datasets generated by similar instruments or workflows to design shared, extensible data model components.

Create visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards leveraging platforms such as Streamlit, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, and others.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of building solutions as a Data Engineer or similar fields.

3+ years working in Python and SQL with a focus on data.

Experience with data plotting dashboarding tools like Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook is a plus

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to take control of project delivery.

Quickly understand a highly technical product and effectively communicate with product management and engineering.

Nice to Have

Passionate about data problems and using AI and LLM to come up with creative ideas

A degree in biology or chemistry or relevant fields OR > 3 years of work experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry in scientific data engineering, data modeling, or data analytics.

Exposure to DevOps practices in cloud environments.
