Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Python Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-native applications. You will collaborate with data engineers, software developers, architects, and product stakeholders to deliver business-critical solutions.

This onsite role in Atlanta requires 5 days a week at a client office. Strong Python (Pandas, PySpark) and AWS experience are essential, as well as experience building scalable data pipelines and REST APIs.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of software or data engineering background.
• Expert-level Python development with Pandas and PySpark.
• Strong experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data transformation solutions.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services (Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, SQS, EventBridge).
• Experience building REST APIs and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines using Python data frameworks.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain serverless REST APIs and event-driven applications on AWS.
• Integrate AWS services and enterprise data platforms for reliable messaging and orchestration.
