Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Machine Learning Center of Excellence. You will design and deliver trusted, scalable ML-enabled software across cloud-native environments in AWS, emphasizing secure-by-design practices and reliable production systems.

As a senior member of an agile team, you will mentor engineers, review architecture, and collaborate with product managers to drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted development tools and efficient delivery workflows.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Advanced Python programming and modular software architecture.
• Experience building large-scale cloud-native services in AWS.
• Experience with EKS, ECS, Kafka, SQS, S3.
• IaC solutions with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong API design and microservices patterns.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Python services and APIs.
• Architect and implement high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in AWS.
• Build scalable cloud-native apps using EKS, ECS, MSK, SQS, and S3.
• Develop reusable service frameworks and modular components.
• Implement IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Create monitoring/observability with Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• Ensure production deployments meet SLOs/SLAs and secure-by-design practices.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and promote best practices in engineering.
