Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in the Data Technology space is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive technical leadership and hands-on delivery across multiple technologies and applications. You will work within Consumer & Community Banking to build secure, scalable technology products and influence architecture and design decisions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied experience delivering production services.
• Strong experience with Java, Python, or Go and AWS.
• Experience hosting APIs, messaging, and event-driven services on AWS.
• Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and IaC code.
• Experience designing microservices and backend services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and SQL queries.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and promoting secure, accurate outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and coaching teams.
• Ability to tackle complex design problems with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance to business units, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Designs and develops secure, high-quality production code with strong review practices.
• Leads system design for cloud-native services on AWS including APIs and events.
• Drives product design decisions, application functionality, and operational processes.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices for code quality and speed.
• Establishes validation standards for AI workflows and promotes reuse of automation patterns.
• Applies SDLC toolchain expertise (CI/CD, testing, IaC, observability) to improve reliability and throughput.
• Serves as a subject matter expert and promotes firm-wide frameworks and tools.
