Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Python Full-Stack Engineer to design data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems powering AI training. This is a fully remote hourly contract requiring 20–40 hours per week and a strong focus on high-impact systems work.

You will build scalable Python services, manage data annotation workflows, and collaborate with research and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional Python experience.
• Native or fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Full-stack developer with a strong systems programming background.
• Experience with asynchronous task queues.
• Skilled at optimizing database performance for demanding, high-throughput applications.
• Comfortable working with real-time data protocols such as WebSockets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance Python systems powering AI data pipelines and model evaluation workflows.
• Develop full-stack backend services and tooling for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control.
• Build and maintain asynchronous task queues for long-running background jobs.
• Optimize database queries for high-read/write workloads; serve data via WebSockets.
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across Python codebases.
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation.
• Identify bottlenecks and edge cases; implement scalable, production-ready fixes.
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions.
