Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend Python experience with ownership of deliveries.
• Hands-on Django and asynchronous Python knowledge.
• Experience operating Kafka in production environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed backend architecture.
• Experience with Docker and (desired) Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS and PostgreSQL; NoSQL is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern testing approaches.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus/Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services through design to deployment and maintenance.
• Build Django-based services capable of handling substantial traffic.
• Contribute to distributed systems design for scale and availability.
• Translate product requirements into production-ready solutions with cross-team collaboration.
• Improve engineering standards through code reviews and mentoring.
• Work with APIs, Kafka messaging, caching, and data-processing workflows.
• Investigate performance bottlenecks and optimize throughput and latency.
• Establish automated testing across unit, integration, and performance levels.
• Improve logging/observability and participate in on-call rotations.
