Job summary

Technologent is seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer for a 12+ month on-site contract in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires hands-on backend development, API engineering, and building scalable solutions using Python, Flask, FastAPI, Django, and PostgreSQL.

You will design and implement RESTful APIs, optimize data access, and integrate secure authentication, logging, and monitoring. Candidates must be willing to work 100% onsite with a strong ownership mindset and collaborative Git

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge and query optimization.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using Python.
• Build RESTful APIs with Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
• Implement secure authentication, logging, error handling, and monitoring.
• Leverage asynchronous programming and distributed workflows.
• Use Temporal, Airflow, or Celery for workflow orchestration.
• Enable real-time capabilities with WebSockets and Socket.IO.
• Collaborate via Git, PRs, and code reviews; support CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerize apps and manage deployment with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement OAuth 2.0/JWT security and AI integration where applicable.
• Own deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
