Qualifications

Strong Python expertise with demonstrated experience building production systems.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using the OpenAPI 3.0 specification.
Experience developing large-scale, back-end applications and microservices.
Ability to understand, develop, and maintain complex distributed systems.
Experience with Agile development processes and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and Bitbucket.
Experience with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
Experience with Git-based source control and modern development workflows.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Experience developing across multiple architectural layers (data, application, business).
Experience creating technical documentation and training materials.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
Experience with agentic software development tools; GitHub Copilot experience preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
Experience contributing to or operating containerized microservices environments
Familiarity with NFS and distributed file system concepts
Experience with Perl (legacy system migration)
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
Experience with NetApp Network Attached Storage devices
Experience analyzing and reporting on operational data with Oracle SQL and Splunk

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and evolve the Enterprise File System (EFS) platform and distributed services.
Migrate legacy Perl-based applications to Python-based microservices architecture.
Design and implement API-driven services and enable containerized deployments.
Collaborate with cloud services engineering, operations, and SMEs to deliver scalable solutions.
Write unit and integration tests and ensure clean integration with the broader platform.
Follow enterprise development standards and security policies from development through deployment.
