Job summary

Intellectsoft is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and build scalable APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI. You will integrate Azure OpenAI, implement multi-tenant data isolation, and orchestrate ML workflows with LangChain/LangGraph.

You will contribute to real-time and batch inference pipelines, apply SOLID principles, and advance NLP/CV capabilities across AI-powered platforms. Flexible remote work options available in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field.
• Strong Python coding skills (7+ years).
• 2+ years ML and production LLM systems experience.
• Experience building backend APIs with FastAPI, async patterns, rate limiting, SQLAlchemy.
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone/Weaviate/Chroma) and hybrid search.
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures and context assembly.
• Hands-on with LangChain and LangGraph for LLM workflows.
• Advanced Python skills: async/await, type hints, Pydantic, SOLID.
• MLOps: MLflow, model versioning, A/B testing; Langfuse a plus.
• NLP and CV including document understanding, OCR, GPT-4 Vision.
• Feature pipelines, real-time and batch inference, model serving.
• Experience with Hugging Face; LlamaIndex is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices with FastAPI.
• Write high-quality backend code using Python, SQL, async/await, and SOLID principles.
• Apply software best practices for reliability and scalability.
• Implement dependency injection and layered architectures.
• Integrate Azure OpenAI (GPT-4, GPT-4 Vision) with robust retry/error handling.
• Build LLM observability with Langfuse.
• Develop prompt management with versioning and cost optimization.
• Orchestrate async workflows using Celery for complex pipelines.
• Design multi-tenant architectures with strict data isolation.
• Integrate third-party APIs (Veeva Vault, Adobe PDF Services, OCR).
• Troubleshoot with structured logging and distributed tracing.
• Document APIs and changes using OpenAPI/Swagger.
