Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of its AI Agent initiatives. This backend-focused role builds scalable, production-grade services and agent-driven workflows with a focus on reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability.

You will mentor junior engineers, set engineering standards, and own CI/CD and on-call readiness while partnering with product and design to deliver high-traffic, customer-facing experiences.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating backend systems in Python (async frameworks).
• Production experience at scale with customer-facing systems and uptime focus.
• Experience integrating LLMs into real systems and AI workflows.
• Experience building AI agents that interact with tools and APIs.
• Strong system design skills: microservices, data stores, queues, high-throughput APIs.
• Mentorship and engineering culture: lead by example.
• Pragmatic, prioritizing stability and maintainability over novelty.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural leadership for scalable backend architectures and agent-driven workflows.
• Design and productionize agent behaviors including tool invocation and memory strategies.
• Ensure code health with clean, maintainable Python backend across projects.
• Develop tests for probabilistic AI components and guardrails.
• Mentor engineers and lead code reviews.
• Own CI/CD, deployment, and on-call production support.
• Partner with product and design to deliver high-traffic customer experiences.
• Translate product goals into technical roadmaps and manage risks.
