Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and lead automation platforms for enterprise storage and backup. You will build scalable Python APIs and services with a focus on security, maintainability, and rapid delivery across teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD, automated testing, and integrations with infrastructure tooling, while ensuring security and compliance in scalable automation solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and distributed systems.
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience working with Linux-based environments.
• Strong experience with source control systems such as Git and modern development workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence outcomes across teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms in professional software development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
• Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack.
• Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle.
• Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Automates manual release activities.
• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
