Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to lead complex designs and set the architectural direction for modern database platforms. You will drive templates, playbooks, and automation to enable scalable, API-first solutions across MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases.

The role emphasizes resilience, governance, and enterprise integration while guiding teams toward best practices. You will collaborate with platform and cloud teams to ensure secure, compliant deployment

Qualifications

• 7+ years as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role
• Define and own target architecture for modern database platforms across the enterprise
• Establish reference architectures, design patterns, and standards for MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases
• Evaluate and guide adoption of emerging database technologies aligned to enterprise needs
• Ensure architecture aligns with hybrid, multi-cloud, and sovereignty considerations
• Lead the creation of API-driven, self-service database platforms
• Define and implement service catalogs, golden deployment patterns, standardized provisioning workflows, reusable automation frameworks
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and platform-as-a-product principles
• Ensure the platform delivers a consistent developer experience and rapid provisioning
• Architect database services for resilience including multi-region/high availability
• Lead performance engineering including sharding, caching patterns, scaling models
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLAs and reliability benchmarks

Responsibilities

• Serves as a consultant on a broad range of technologies and platforms to drive business outcomes
• Develops software solutions to address manual or inefficient processes and informs architecture strategies
• Translates business requirements into technical definitions and deployment playbooks
• Participates in steering committees for technical and infrastructure domains
• Leads evaluation of reference models and blueprints for fit and future needs
• Mentors team members to ensure adherence to enterprise design standards
• Creates an inclusive, collaborative environment and helps resolve blockers
