Wissen Technology seeks a seasoned Python Automation Engineer in NYC to design AI-enabled automation solutions. You will architect scalable pipelines, integrate AI/LLM capabilities, and mentor engineers while partnering with business stakeholders on high‑impact initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Python (3.x) — OOP, scripting, and libraries like pandas and BeautifulSoup.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into production applications.
• Strong prompt engineering for automation and data-extraction use cases.
• Experience with automation/RPA frameworks and REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with task scheduling/orchestration tools in production environments.
• Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to lead or mentor engineers and own technical decisions on automation initiatives.
• Commitment to data security, privacy, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own end-to-end Python-based automation platforms and pipelines.
• Lead integration of AI/LLM APIs into automation workflows for document processing, data extraction, classification, and summarization.
• Design and oversee RPA-style bots using Selenium, Playwright, or UiPath with Python.
• Drive ETL/ELT data ingestion, transformation, and reporting across enterprise systems.
• Define integration strategy for REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems.
• Establish standards for error handling, logging, monitoring, and orchestration (Airflow, Celery, Cron).
• Act as a technical lead — set architecture direction and conduct code reviews.
• Mentor mid-level and junior automation engineers and collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Champion engineering best practices: testing, code quality, and CI/CD.
• Ensure automation solutions meet data security, privacy, and governance requirements.
