Job summary

Apt is seeking a Python AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI agents and backend services that connect with ERP, supply-chain, and order-processing systems.

You will use Python, FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith to create reusable agents and services, enabling agent-to-agent communication and access to AI capabilities through Microsoft Copilot Studio for business users.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend apps, APIs, or microservices with FastAPI or a similar Python framework.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding HTTP services, auth, error handling, and API integrations.
• Experience integrating with enterprise or external systems.
• Experience with generative AI apps, LLMs, or AI-agent development.
• Ability to translate business processes into maintainable technical solutions.
• Experience testing, debugging, and supporting production-quality Python apps.
• Strong software engineering principles and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and AI services using Python.
• Build RESTful APIs and HTTP services using FastAPI.
• Develop enterprise AI agents using LangChain and LangGraph.
• Use LangSmith to trace, evaluate, monitor, and improve agent behavior.
• Build agents capable of communicating with other agents through agent-to-agent protocols.
• Create reusable AI services that can be integrated into Microsoft Copilot Studio and other business-facing platforms.
• Integrate AI agents with ERP systems, order-processing platforms, supply-chain applications, HR systems, and external services.
• Design secure and maintainable interfaces between AI applications and enterprise data sources.
• Translate business workflows into agent-based technical solutions.
• Develop orchestration logic, tool integrations, prompts, workflows, and decision paths for AI agents.
• Troubleshoot application, API, integration, and agent-performance issues.
• Evaluate AI outputs and improve the quality, accuracy, reliability, and usefulness of agent responses.
• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and product stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Document APIs, integrations, application architecture, and agent workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing production support.
• Demonstrate consistent ownership, dependability, and commitment throughout the development lifecycle.
