Job summary

MatchBuilt, LLC in Atlanta is seeking a Purchasing Manager to own centralized construction budget and procurement processes for Georgia and Florida operations. This hands-on role reports to the VP of Construction and has no direct reports.

You will lead takeoffs, buyout planning, bid analysis, and cost reporting to protect margins and ensure on-time starts. A strong residential construction purchasing background is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing or estimating experience for homebuilders.
• Strong plan reading and cost-entry discipline.
• Ability to reconcile estimates, bids, POs, and costs.
• Proven negotiation skills with vendors and trades.
• Excellent attention to detail and writing clear scopes.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates and quantity takeoffs from current plans and specs.
• Maintain project budgets in the purchasing system including baseline and commitments.
• Build and manage a buyout plan ahead of starts to ensure scheduling.
• Issue complete bid packages and track inquiries and submissions.
• Write clear trade scopes to close gaps and overlaps between trades.
• Level bids and prepare written award recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing and terms without compromising quality or code compliance.
• Generate purchase orders and change orders tied to the budget.
• Manage long-lead procurement and onboarding of trades.
• Report weekly/monthly on budgets, bid coverage, and awards.
