Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation, headquartered with a remote office in Troy, MI, seeks a Senior Purchasing Manager to lead procurement and category strategy for Powertrain and Drivetrain. You will partner with Engineering and stakeholders to ensure continuity, quality, and cost competitiveness across the supplier base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required.
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in purchasing/procurement.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading a team.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of purchasing category specialists and set priorities.
• Own category strategy for Powertrain and Drivetrain with cost/quality targets.
• Collaborate with Engineering to align strategy with product and manufacturing goals; provide quarterly updates.
• Lead supplier selection and manage the preferred supplier list.
• Govern sourcing events and ensure best-value outcomes.
• Develop Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Spend plan for the categories.
