Job summary

Marquardt Group in Rochester Hills, MI seeks a Team Lead- Advanced Purchasing Buyer to drive supplier development for mechanical/electromechanical/electronics categories. You will lead negotiations, support cross-functional programs, and ensure supply security while reducing costs.

You will manage supplier performance with Quality, qualify new suppliers, and uphold purchasing policies, balancing workload for new programs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain or related field preferred.
• 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing and electronic component purchasing environment desirable.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the mechanical/electromechanics/electronics supplier base and supply chain for assigned projects including escalation of quality & logistics issues.
• Lead/support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price, quality and schedule
• Support purchasing activities for cross-functional product development programs
• Utilize organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure compliance
• Work with Quality to develop and maintain supplier performance
• Coordinate the qualification of new suppliers
• Research new sources of materials, supplies, and services making recommendations to reduce costs and improve quality
• Maintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveries
• Serve as technical resource in matters related to changing market conditions
• Participation in cost reduction activities to meet Purchasing targets
• Coordinate and balance workload across Advance Purchasing Team to meet new program time lines
