Job summary

Maryland Precision Spring in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Machinist III to perform complex setups, precision machining, and mentor junior machinists. The role requires expert knowledge of Punch Press and manual machines, the ability to read GD&T drawings, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

You will work with minimal supervision and contribute to process improvements, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of machining experience with advanced Punch Press setup.
• GD&T, machining math, trigonometry, and precision measurement knowledge.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and troubleshoot.
• Experience with steels, aluminum, hardened alloys, exotic metals, and plastics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Punch Presses and manual equipment for tight-tolerance parts.
• Lead complex machining setups with fixtures and tool selection.
• Read and interpret advanced engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Perform first-article inspections and verify conformance using CMM, micrometers, etc.
• Maintain accurate records including travelers, inspection reports and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on manufacturability and tooling needs.
