Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Punch Press Operator role based in Baltimore, MD. The Punch Press Operator will set up, operate, and monitor punch press machinery to produce metal components according to specifications and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include interpreting work orders and technical drawings, selecting and installing appropriate tooling, performing test runs, and making adjustments to ensure accurate dimensions and consistent production quality. The role involves inspecting parts for defects, documenting production and quality data, and collaborating with maintenance and supervision teams to report issues and support preventive maintenance. The Punch Press Operator will follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in throughput, efficiency, and product quality.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in machine operation, specifically setup and safe operation of punch press and related metal forming equipment.
  • Strong quality control skills, including inspection, measurement, and documentation to meet tight tolerances and regulatory standards.
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical and production issues, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Basic math skills and use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment; punch press experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
