Job summary

BW Papersystems is seeking an experienced Machinist to plan and perform machining operations including turning, drilling, tapping, and boring on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The role requires reading blueprints and ensuring tolerances with precision instruments, while maintaining a safe, clean work area on site in Baltimore.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years in manufacturing. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered for experienced machinists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting and similar machining operations on a variety of shafts, housings heads, and parts of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments like micrometers.
• Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate implementation of operational sequence.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
