Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Fairfax, VA seeks a Pulmonary Diagnostics RCPIII to provide advanced clinical support for diagnostic services and respiratory care. The role includes performing pulmonary function tests, training staff, and rotating across main lab, inpatient lab, OR/ICU, ROC, and MDA Center.

The candidate will mentor new hires, maintain ATS standards learning, and coordinate patient education on airway clearance techniques and respiratory medications.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in an AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
• 6 years experience in respiratory care environment (inpatient/outpatient).
• 2 years in a pediatric pulmonary lab environment.
• RRT/RCP licensure and BLS on hire.
• CITI training completed within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient respiratory status and symptoms.
• Perform full range of pulmonary function testing per ATS standards.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and devices.
• Lead therapist role when requested by manager.
• Ensure equipment, supplies and staff readiness across sites.
